The historic Route 66 is full of iconic styling and landmarks, none more beautiful however than the big Roys Motel and Cafe sign in Amboy, California. I visited this place on my first ever photography road trip in 2018 and never forgot how cool it was. I’ve had this milky way composite image in my “must do” list ever since! The property was recently renovated and the lights were brought back on, the perfect excuse to head back and finally bring it to life! Capturing the milky way out here was a dream as it’s in one of the darkest parts of the route! The day and night diptych makes for a sick combo.
